.::The Vampire Clan::.
I came across this community through a search on Tavares in Intereasts...I am not intereasted in becoming a vampire or fantasizing about them|
You people dont know the half of it. I didnt see the movie...I was part of the real event. I graduated Eustis High School in 1996 and knew Rod. Infact he asked me to join a group he was starting....nothing about Vampires though...all he mentioned was something about a fantasy D&D style thing. I grabbed his attention because of the twisted drawings I made in class..by the way he was in Biology Honors with me ....How he got into a honors class I dont know, because he failed everything in that class. I myself was a 'social outcast' so I feel this was why he was comfortable around me...but the feeling wasn't mutual. He also was always in my Lab group...and the group always ended up doing the work with him slacking behind.
I remember him always wearing a mix of two different Metallica shirts...and finally got a trenchcoat that he would never part from like his metallica shirts. He lived about a mile from EHS...this I know because I was lucky enough to have him sometimes walk with me when I was walking to swim practice at the Eustis Community Pool.
The lawyer that defended him (James Hope) also, amazing enough, is close friends with my family. He comes over with his wife twice a week for bible study. He is a Jehova's Witness...and a very respectable, intelligent man...but I feel a bit uncomfortable around him becuase my faith is not meet on the same level. Thats another story.
I will leave you guys to come up with some intearsting questions, however, the media played him out to be much more than he really was to all of your dissapointments.. I guess you could call him a vampire of sorts, since he prayed upon the weakness's of other kids..with low selfesteem, outcasts, social awkwardness. The boy had some serious mental issues...and I would defiently blame the enviroment he was thrown into for that! He is not a Hero by all means...he was just a product of shitty family and unforgiving society. Highschool was cruel to him.
By the way you should see the picture of him in my yearbook....not very scary...just a smiling kid with a buttoned up polo shirt. I truly feel sorry for those of you that look up to him.
